Soldier of Fortune Reviewed!
Does it innovate? Well, not really, unless you count discovering new ways to render technicolor violence and dismemberment. But it's still a fun game -- very fast.

.plan updates | 4.4.00 | 06:52

Well it's pretty short so I'll save you the time of looking at the whole thing so here it is...

Keeping a small promise to post this in my .plan-

http://hypothermia.evilavatar.com/Lisa_Dixon_wk2.htm

Side note -At the bottom there are recent pictures of Mark Surfas (CEO of Gamespy) and Rick Raymo, (producer of titles like Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, and Duke Nukem Forever to name a few - He is now a BIZ guy over at GameSpy...) for those that are interested in seeing what these guys look like these days. Very nice people. Working on the weekends no less!

Anyhow, next item...

I am trying to contact Richard Garriott. I am having trouble locating him. Before I really start digging, I thought I'd try the easy way and ask if anyone out there had his new contact information? If you could help me out on this, it would be much appreciated!

Please e-mail hall@lith.com if you can help.
Thanks!

While we're all on the subject of contacting people... Anyone have John Carmack's number? He owes me twenty bucks.

Wraith Editoral - by DooBall
General Shogo News | 4.3.00 | 15:08

A.T. Hun sent in this news about an editorial at The Haus of Shogo by on what do you when you find easily exploitable bugs in a game's source code. The editorial particularly focuses on their discovery of such a bug in the Shogo source code.

Spectre, Ghost (another two of the Ghost Clanners and my roommates) and I began playing around with swapping textures and models around in the game (as there is NO skin support in Shogo), and discovered an interesting bug. We played around with this a little bit, and discovered that we could apply this bug to all of the weapons in the game. The bug increased the firing rate of the weapons drastically. We had a little fun with the mod on our local LAN, and gave a couple of people copies. We didn't test it on public servers, so we assumed that it wouldn't work with Internet play.

We were wrong.

Check out the editorial, Waiter, There's a Bug in My Code! only at The Haus of Shogo.

Geist (Macross TC) Interview - by DooBall
General Shogo News | 4.3.00 | 11:36

Aussie Gaming has an interview up with Geist from the Macross TC project. It discusses about the project, features, improvements to code, and more.

What are some of the main features we will see in the next release? I'm kinda disappointed in the releases so far. They were primarily released because I was tired of waiting for a chance to polish off the code in my spare time. I wanted to get SOMETHING out there for people to check out, even if it sucks. However, most of the cool stuff we've been working on has not been released yet. So then, the next release will be a totally stripped down version. No Shogo AI (so no single-player compatibility), no Shogo weapons, no Shogo onfoot mode. But we should have some new movement code in, and most likely we'll have the first new player model in there. I can't really say right now if a new player model will DEFINITELY be in the next release, but it's at the top of the list.

Check out the interview with Geist.
