No one, even charitably, could claim that the SID conversion of these
themes was 100% accurate. The themes I present here in MPEG3 format, are taken from the PC
Engine version and are, I believe, accurate to the arcade game. To my knowledge, there
were no definitively accurate renditions of this music on the C64: Jeroen Tel's
conversions, though worthy pieces of music in their own right, had a different feel and
style to the original. Here, I have tried to stick to the "lounge music" feel of
the originals, and add a latin flavour. The game? Well, I got some enjoyment from the
concept, but it wasn't until Turbo Outrun that the C64 finally got an Outrun worth the
name, really. This was a valiant attempt at the time, though. And it sold. And sold. And
sold. And sold. And...
