Possibly the only Outrun of note on the C64, JT continued his foray into sampling with this theme, with almost the entire rhythm section being sampled in much the same way as BMX Kidz. Clever arrangement of the drum rhythms and the use of multilayered samples successfully hides the fact that Commodore 64 sampling is monophonic. The piece itself is most unusual in the number of discrete sections it contains. In this version jungle rhythms for the most part fade into conventional rock and back again.
JT commented once that he often wrote music with vocals in mind and aimed to bring proper melody to the C64: his melodies are almost vocal in their construction.
This versions is an offshoot of the CD project. A sharp mix with guitar
whacks and other oddities.
