OK, so it's not a Rob original. But he made it his own, just as surely as the Beatles co-opted "Twist and Shout". Inspired by a track on the album "Audion" by "Synergy" (kudos to the first person who tells me which tracks on the album this and Master of Magic were taken from: even Rob himself can't remember!)
The piece itself was part of Rob's "ringmod" era, characterised by
"Spellbound", "Phantoms of the Asteroids" and
"Rasputin", and it was an immensely powerful, monolithic piece. You could almost
inagine those lumbering Zoids trampling you underfoot. The MPEG3 is a recording of the
MIDI file playing on XG equipment. It won't sound better than this on any
other card. But if you've got XG: you lucky thing! You lucky lucky lucky
lucky (that's enough luckiness - Ed).
