Back home ISO 9002

On the 3rd of September 1997, Managing Director of Cadbury Poland Marek Grzegorzewicz collected ISO 9002 Quality Certificate. The Certificate was granted by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance, an independent consulting agency.

The event took place in the beautiful interiors of Kraskow castle near Wroclaw. Thereby, Cadbury Poland has joined the group of companies whose products' quality complies with international standards.

Cadbury Poland Company, a part of the Cadbury Schweppes Group, is the world fourth producer of chocolate products. It covers 6,9% of the world and 7% of the Polish confectionary market. For over two years Cadbury Poland has been producing world-known Cadbury sweets in Bielany Wroclawskie. The ceremony of granting the certificate crowned the six month period of very intense Company's preparations.

Starting from December 1996 until 11 June 1997 (that day auditors from LRQA proposed granting Cadbury Poland ISO 9002 Quality Certificate after inspecting the factory), the whole factory worked on implementing procedures agreeing with ISO standards. During those six months works were being coordinated by the staff representatives who had been especially trained for that purpose by expert companies. It was this team, consisting of nine internal auditors, which controlled correcting activities and supervised their implementation.

Granting of certificate, confirmed by an official letter from LRQA (July 2nd, 1997), means that Cadbury Poland has been accepted to the world class producers of the best quality products. Cadbury Poland is the 16th out of 54 factories belonging to the Cadbury Schweppes Group which complies with the standards set by ISO 9002. The first factory which was granted this certificate was Cadbury Limited factory in Chirk in Great Britain. It was followed by Trebor Basset Ltd. in Pontefract (also situated in Great Britain). The following five factories which are expected to receive ISO 9002 are, among others, the Spanish, Dutch and South African ones.

"Granting us this certificate is an evidence for consumers that the quality of our products is controlled at every stage of their production" stresses Managing Director of Cadbury Poland Marek Grzegorzewicz. Then Grzegorzewicz adds, "we have achieved a lot but at the same time we should remember that it does not mean the end of a continuous process of improving Company's activities".
